Emergency Housing

The Eaton Fire has displaced many members of the Caltech community from their homes. Caltech's Faculty Housing and Student Housing offices continue to receive requests for help in finding short-term and long-term housing for those displaced by the fire and by mandatory evacuation orders. To expedite the relocation process, the Institute has convened an Emergency Housing Working Group to match displaced community members with housing options, both on- and off-campus.  Priority in placement is being given to community members and families whose homes were destroyed by the fire, as well as those with special needs.  The Working Group is also exploring options for others whose homes have been impacted by fire and smoke damage, and by loss of utilities.

Submit a Request for Housing Assistance

A dedicated email address ([email protected] ) has been created to facilitate new requests for housing assistance.  Please provide the following information in your request:

  • Your name
  • Caltech affiliation
  • Contact information
  • Status of your home
  • Your current housing situation
  • Date(s) when housing is needed
  • Number of family members to be housed
  • Special needs

We will respond to all inquiries as quickly as possible.
