Brian Brophy, Director

A woodcutter, a thief, a young woman, and a samurai meet in the forest. Each tells a different story of the same event—Just who can you believe?

The 90-minute production features Caltech graduate students, Amit Lakhanpal, Benjamin R. Sveinbjornsson, Zachary J. Tobin, Kari Alison Hodge and Utkarsh Mital, Caltech undergrad Ella Dodd, Staffer Zachary Abbott and JPLers Hui Ying Wen and Joseph Cook (an alumnus). This fully-staged production is based on Japanese director Akira Kurosawa's classic film and the Broadway script by Fay and Michael Kanin and edited by dramaturg Ann K. Lindsey. The original bamboo set designed is by international artist Stephen Glassman.

This event will take place in the dappled shade of the Under the Oaks Theater at Descanso Gardens in La Canada. Bench seating will be provided and the show is free with Descanso Garden admission.

The same concert will be presented Sunday, March 24th at 2:30 p.m. On-campus performances will be presented on April 6th and April 7th.
