C-H Functionalization by Cooperative Metal Catalysis
C-C and C-heteroatom bond forming reactions through C-H activation enabled by doubly activating cooperative catalysis with late transition metals and Lewis acids will be presented. Site-selective alkylation of arenes, pyridines, borylation of arenes, and silylation of pyridines by the cooperative catalysis will be discussed. Compared with conventional C-H functionalization of arenes bearing a directing group in a substrate-controlled manner, the protocols allow controlling site-selectivity with common arene substrates in a catalyst-controlled manner.
