Music: Physics and Creativity: A Conversation with Michael Feinstein and Professor Clifford Cheung
- Public Event
Conductor of the Pasadena Pops, Michael Feinstein is the multi-platinum, two-time Emmy and five-time Grammy Award-nominated entertainer dubbed "The Ambassador of the Great American Songbook." Feinstein has been collaborating with the Institute for Music and Neurologic Function, which uses music therapy to assist individuals with a wide range of neurological conditions.
Clifford Cheung is an assistant professor of theoretical physics at Caltech. His research is in the areas of particle physics and cosmology, which seek an understanding of the fundamental laws of nature and how these came to create the universe as we see it today. Much of his work has focused on new symmetries of physics, the generation of matter in the early universe and the character of dark matter. He is particularly interested in the theoretical structures underpinning these ideas and their consequences for experiments.
This event is open to the public, free of charge. No tickets are required.
