CMA Presents "Nike Innovation and the Science of Sport: Using Smart Materials, Modern Manufacturing, and Embedded Technologies"
From the greatest athletes at the Olympics, to everyday sportswear, Nike invests heavily in innovating footwear, apparel, and equipment that help people move faster and measure their performance. Come listen to four of Nike's top innovators as they discuss how science and technology have influenced the research and design process at various Nike creative centers, including the Innovation Kitchen and the ZOO. Following their remarks, they will answer questions from the audience.
Nike is one of the world's leading suppliers of athletic shoes, apparel, and equipment. They believe, first off, that if you have a body you are an athlete. And second, that humans are always capable of achieving more through innovation and technology, materials, and design. The JPL discussion will not be directed to athletes, but to those interested in the process that drives innovative thinking and design to further human potential.
This event is free, All members of the Campus and JPL communities and retirees are welcome. Because of security requirements, Campus personnel and retirees without JPL badges must be processed through JPL Visitor Control and escorted by a JPL employee or resident affiliate for access to the Flight Projects Center auditorium. For assistance with Visitor Control, please contact Doris Shimabukuro ASAP, (626) 395-3652.
