Judson Boomhower,
Assistant Professor,
Department of Economics,
University of California, San Diego,
Abstract: The combination of climate change and widespread development in fire-prone areas has made wildfire one of the fastest-growing causes of natural disaster. This talk will discuss the economics of escalating wildfire property risk, including insurance pricing and regulation, wildfire risk modeling, and homeowner and community investments in risk reduction. The focus will be on current research findings and related policy questions.
