PASADENA, Calif. — June Thames Poust has been named director of principal and major gifts in the office of development at the California Institute of Technology. She will start in late March.
Since 1998, Poust has been director of major gifts at the Illinois Institute of Technology, where she has directed and managed a $250-million university-wide campaign for facilities and scholarship endowment. Previously, she headed her own consulting firm in nonprofit fund-raising and marketing, served as the director of development for the Schools of Music and Speech at Northwestern University, and was a development officer at the Newberry Library and the Field Museum of Natural History.
"June Poust brings to the Institute a long and distinguished career in fund-raising in the Chicago area, and her success with a major campaign bodes well for fundraising efforts at Caltech, " says Bob O'Rourke, interim vice president for development and alumni relations, and vice president for public relations.
"It is a privilege to become a member of the Caltech community, " says Poust. "As a Midwesterner, I fully appreciate the beauty of the campus, the quality of the student body, and the outstanding reputation of the faculty. I am looking forward to advancing the mission of Caltech at this important time in its history."
