Caltech Staff Member Named to Business Technology Center Committee

PASADENA, Calif. — Richmond Wolf, associate director of the California Institute of Technology's Office of Technology Transfer, was appointed to the Advisory Committee for the Los Angeles County Business Technology Center by County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.
The Business Technology Center is California's largest high-technology business incubator and the nation's only high-tech incubator owned and operated by a county agency. Located two miles from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory on Lincoln Avenue in Altadena, the center houses 26 early-stage and start-up technology firms with focuses ranging from software development to DNA chip architecture.
"Rich will bring experience, sound judgment, and expertise to the BTC," said Antonovich. "The BTC is a key asset in the county's commitment to technology, and Rich will make it even more successful."
"I am excited to be a part of the continued commitment on the part of Supervisor Antonovich toward building a high-technology base in L.A. County," said Wolf.
Caltech has a long history of community outreach dating back to the 1920s. The Institute continues to reach out to the surrounding community academically, culturally, and economically. Although the campus created its Office of Technology Transfer only eight years ago, Caltech is the third most prolific university in the nation in terms of patents and transfer of technology.
