"Elizabeth Krider is a tremendous asset for Caltech," stated Hall Daily, assistant vice president and director of government and community relations for the Institute. "She brings a depth of understanding about Caltech, the local scene and, of course, the educational and research environment that is at the heart of the campus culture. She will be a great Caltech representative with so many of its constituencies."
A Pasadena resident, Krider received her BS in 1994 from Brigham Young University in biochemistry and her PhD in 2000 from Caltech in chemistry. Prior to entering the graduate program, Krider was a research technician in the Beckman Institute at Caltech. Krider is the author of five scientific papers, and is the recipient of numerous science awards and scholarships.
Participating actively in several civic organizations, Krider serves as the vice president of the East Pasadena Relief Society, a women's service organization; she works on various community projects concerning mental health issues affecting young adults; additionally, Krider participates in community outreach efforts involving elderly single women.
A native of San Marino, Krider is married to David Krider, who received his BS from Caltech in 1993 in economics and computer science.
